The Australian Society of Orthodontics recommends early intervention in the case of orthodontics. For this reason they recommend an initial orthodontic assessment around the age of 7 to detect any potential issues before they escalate. The majority of children will not require treatment at this stage however it can be highly beneficial to begin to gage if orthodontic treatment will be required and when to commence it.
