How do I take care of my braces?

Taking care of your braces will be fully explained when they are placed as this can vary from case to case. Your experienced Dentist will demonstrate how to clean and take care of them at your appointment. Your dentist will also provide you with a list of tips including foods and drinks to avoid and trick on how to keep them clean.

What types of braces are available at Rosalie Dental?

At Rosalie Dental we offer a range of braces. Predominantly our braces are metal, made from surgical grade stainless steel. We also offer clear braces made from steel and ceramic. Further, for something more fun we offer a range of colours so you can stand out from your friends. We will provide you with our considered, professional recommendation as to which brace will suit your treatment best.

When should my child begin their orthodontic treatment?

The Australian Society of Orthodontics recommends early intervention in the case of orthodontics. For this reason they recommend an initial orthodontic assessment around the age of 7 to detect any potential issues before they escalate. The majority of children will not require treatment at this stage however it can be highly beneficial to begin to gage if orthodontic treatment will be required and when to commence it.

How will braces effect by sporting lifestyle?

At Rosalie Dental we understand how importing sport and an active lifestyle is to many our patients. Braces will not affect your ability to play sports (including contact sport) however to protect your braces and your mouth we recommend a custom fitted mouthguard.
